The Human Research Protection Program (HRPP) is the IRB office for the entire University and provides support for all Penn State researchers, including those at the College of Medicine and Penn State Health.

New FWA Number: The Human Research Protection Program (HRPP) has moved to a single Federal Wide Assurance (FWA): research teams and administrators should update their records with the new FWA, which is needed for grant submissions and reliance agreements. Learn more.
CATS IRB was upgraded successfully on June 26, 2023. Users will notice changes to the interface along with other enhancements; read an overview of upgrade changes.

Single IRB Fees: the HRPP is now charging fees to serve as the reviewing IRB for multi-center and cooperative projects that designate Penn State as the reviewing IRB. Learn more.
